Daily Activities
Uganda Primate and Game Safari itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe
Once you arrive at Entebbe Airport you will be received by one of our company representatives awho will then transfer you to your hotel.
Overnight at the Boma guest House / Karibu Guest House
 
Day 2: Drive to Kibale Forest
After breakfast you will depart in the morning by road and head west to Fort Portal, in the shadow of the fabled “Mountains of the Moon” and on this drive you will be driving passed many tea plantations. Continue on to Kibale Forest National Park, you will see a number of crater lakes along the way.
Dinner and overnight at Kibale Forest Camp

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi Wetlands
After breakfast you will be taken to Kibale forest for your chimpanzee tracking. Kibale Forest is known to have the highest concentration of primates in East Africa. Enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzee, and other primates like; red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus monkey and many others.
 
In the afternoon after you have had your lunch at the lodge you will be transferred to the Bigodi Swamp for another, totally different nature walk. The Bigodi Swamp Walk is an initiative of the local community and is known for its rich diversity of birds and primates.
Dinner and overnight at Kibale Forest Camp.

Day 4: Drive from Kibale Forest to Queen Elizabeth Game Park
After a leisurely breakfast you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth Game Park driving passed the Rwenzori Mountains, check into your accommodation. There will be an evening game drive in Kasenyi plains where you will see animals such as warthogs, buffaloes, waterbucks and elephants and if lucky lions and leopards before you return to the lodge for dinner and ovenight.

Day 5: Game drive in the morning, afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel
You will begin your day very early this morning with another game drive heading to the mating ground of the Uganda Kobs. This early morning game drives gives you a chance to search for lions, elephants, buffaloes and other wild animals in their natural habitat before returning for lunch.
 
In the afternoon you will take a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural channel between Lake Edward and Lake George. On this cruise you will see plenty of birdlife, and other wildlife that come to the edge of the lake to drink like the elephants, buffaloes and hundreds of hippos, this cruise will be one of the highlights of your safari an activity not to be missed.

Day 6: Drive to Bwindi Forest Park
After breakfast you will drive towards the south, passing the southern sector of the national park (if road conditions allow). This part is called Ishasha and is famous for the tree climbing lions. After a short game drive in this area you will continue to Bwindi home of the endangered mountain gorillas. Your arrival in Bwindi will be in the afternoon.

Day 7: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Forest
Get ready for you gorilla tracking experience in Bwindi forest by waking up early for breakfast before you are trasferred to the park headquarters for your meeting with the gentle giants of Bwindi - the mountain gorillas. Gorilla tracking can be hard so expect to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas.
Once located you will you observe them closely while they eat, play and rest.
Dinner and overnight Engagi Lodge.

Day 8:Drive from Bwindi to Lake Mburo Game park
After breakfast you will leave Bwindi and head to Lake Mburo National Park with a game drive en-route to your accommodation. After checking into your lodge you will go on a boat ride on the lake and enjoy the rich bird life and the many hippos.
Overnight Rwakobo Rock

Day 9: Drive from Lake Mburo to Entebbe
Wake up early and take a cup of coffee or tea before you go for a guided nature walk in the park. Lake Mburo is the only national park where you can experience a safari on foot. Return the lodge for breakfast later depart for Entebbe with a game drive on our way out. You will have a stop at the equator arriving in Entebbe late afternoon.
Overnight the Boma Guest House / Karibu Guest House

Day 10: Depart Entebbe - Uganda
Today depending on your flight schedule you can join our guide on a city tour and visit some interesting and historical sites. Later you will be transferred to Entebbe Airport for your international flight out.

Notes
  • Our scheduled tours requires a deposit of of US$800 per person in order to secure the included gorilla permit. We also require full passport details at time of booking. The additional deposit paid at time of booking will be credited to the final balance of your booking.
  • Gorilla permits in all parks are on a very high demand and we advise that you book them as early as possible.
  • Clients who desire to to be accommodated in single rooms, a single supplement is available.
  • Accommodation on this tour will have private bathrooms.
  • Depending on the group of gorillas you will be tracking we will choose where to sleep in Bwindi. There are 4 areas for Gorilla tracking in Bwindi: Buhoma, Ruhija and Nkuringo and Rushaga.
  • Some lodges may ask for seasonal surcharges for the Easter and Christmas Holidays.
  • Optional activities are available, please talk to us at the time of booking.
  • Please do not book any flights until after 2pm on the departure day.
  • The itinerary is a general guide to the tour and region and any mention of specific destinations or wildlife is by no means a guarantee that they will be encountered.
  • Please note that to track the gorillas you must be 15 years or older (prior to start of travel) - there are no exceptions to this as it is for safety reasons and strictly controlled by the Government.
  • Gorilla trekking and chimpanzee tracking takes place in humid rain forests, steep terrain and high altitude, you therefore need to be in excellent physical condition, without any heart problems and prepared to spend a strenuous day trekking for chimpanzee and gorillas, as well as other primates.
  • Internal scheduled flight Luggage restriction of 15 kgs per person in soft bags only.
  • You will need some extra money to cover meals and drinks not included in the tour price, any optional sightseeing, souvenirs and items of a personal nature such as laundry.
