Obtaining Rwanda Visa
Rwanda Visa can be paid for and got upon arrival but you need to have applied for it online prior. One has a choice to choose from Single entry visas to individual East African countries or apply for the East African Visa which enables him /her to enter three East Africa countries namely; Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda. The cost of the East African Visa is US$100. The East African Visa has to be applied for from the first country of entry. For example if one is visiting all the three East African countries named above and is starting his/her safari from Kenya then he /she can apply from Kenya and it will enable him / her to enter all the three East African countries.

For individual country visa you can either choose to apply online or get a visa in advance at any Rwandan diplomatic mission in your country.

The entry border point to Rwanda are Cyanika, Gatuna, Kagitumba all bordering Uganda, Kigali International airport, Gisenyi border with DRC.
Go to Rwanda Directorate general of Immigration and Emigration for online Visa application form which picks your personal information.
The supporting document to attach is your tour Itinerary if traveling to visit Rwanda, Invitation letter, other document with respect to your travel intentions or your flight details in PDF format. You MUST ATTACH documentation at this stage or the visa request will not be processed.
Once you have successfully submitted your personal information, you will receive a “Tracking Number” starting with RWA… If you do not receive this number on the next screen after submitting your form application, it means you did not complete the form correctly.
You should be able to receive a response by email at least two (2) working days with an attached “Invitation Letter”. You will then print that letter and come with it to show to the immigration officials at the border and pay for your visa.
Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Rwanda. You’ll need one blank page on your passport for entry stamps.
